Intake ownership, AI context awareness, and editor-to-work conversion | Dec 23, 2025
What's new
Intake responsibility

You can now assign a team member to be responsible for Intake. They’ll be automatically assigned to and notified about every new work item created through forms, in-app submissions, or email.
Triage state for Intake
Intake now has a single state: Triage. Incoming requests stay here until you decide what to do with them, without appearing in your project state groups.

When you accept an intake work item into a project, it will automatically move to that project’s default state unless you choose a specific state. Cancelled or duplicate items stay in Intake under Triage.
Regardless of how the request was created (email, form, or external endpoint), intake items always start in Triage for a predictable review process.
Plane AI context in the sidecar

Plane AI now understands where you are. When you’re inside a cycle, module, or work item, the AI sidecar automatically picks up the right context so you can ask questions or take action without restating background.
Ask and Build switcher for Plane AI

You can now switch between Ask and Build modes in Plane AI. Use Ask to explore, understand, or get clarity, and switch to Build when you want the AI to create or update things for you.
Convert selections to work items

You can turn selected text into a work item directly from the editor. Selecting multiple items creates multiple work items, and nested selections form parent-and-child work items. This action is permanent for now, so make sure your selection is final before converting.
Video attachments in editors

You can now add videos directly inside work item descriptions and pages. Watch demos and walkthroughs without opening another app or switching tabs, keeping the entire conversation in one place.
Copy block URLs

You can copy a link to any specific block inside your document. When people open it, they go straight to the exact paragraph or section you want them to see.
Mention work items in pages and wiki

You can reference work items directly inside your documentation. Link to work items, pages or PRDs without leaving the page, so context stays connected as you write.
Workspace member activity log

You can now see a clear activity log on the Workspace members page. Track when members are added to or removed from the workspace, making it easier to understand changes and maintain visibility as your team grows.
