What's new

A smarter, faster Plane AI

Plane AI now works in Slack

You can ask questions, create work, update projects, manage cycles, and run actions directly from your Slack channels using the Plane bot. Anything you could do in the Plane AI panel now works from Slack too, which means less context switching and faster decision-making.

We’ve also added support for the Claude Sonnet 4.0 model

Responses are sharper, reasoning is better, and multi-step actions feel noticeably more accurate. Whether you are planning cycles, writing descriptions, or running automation flows, the quality of output is a clear upgrade.

You can now turn AI answers into editable Pages inside your project

If Plane AI generates a breakdown, a summary, a project plan, or instructions, you can convert it into a Page with one click. The Page opens instantly, and you can rewrite, reorganize, or add more context before saving it. It is the easiest way to turn a conversation into documentation.

Plane just got a lot faster!

Plane has fully migrated its web application from Next.js to React Router (Framework Mode) and Vite. The migration touched more than 1,200 files and added over 20,000 lines of code. Developers now get millisecond-level hot reloads, faster builds, and one consistent Vite workflow across development, testing, and CI. There is no change in the UI, but the foundation is much faster, cleaner, and easier to work with.

Gantt layout for initiatives

You can now view your initiatives in a Gantt layout. It gives you a simple, visual way to see how long big workstreams run, where they overlap, and where something might slow you down. It makes roadmap conversations easier, helps everyone stay aligned on timelines, and keeps long-running work from quietly drifting off course.

Cycle transfer history for work items

You can now see how many cycles a work item has moved through. This makes it easier to spot slipping scope, catch hidden blockers, and understand whether work is actually progressing or just getting pushed forward.
