Plane now has a new visual and brand identity: Planes of Work
We’ve reimagined Plane’s identity and introduced Planes of Work: a design and product philosophy powering Projects, Wiki, and AI in one unified workbench.
We’ve reimagined Plane’s identity and introduced Planes of Work: a design and product philosophy powering Projects, Wiki, and AI in one unified workbench.

A rebrand, three products, one workbench
We’ve always seen Plane as more than an issue tracker.
From the start, we built it as a place where projects, knowledge, and context come together to help teams move faster and stay in sync.
Now we’re saying that more clearly, with a new identity that reflects the product as it exists today: an integrated workbench for scale-ups and enterprises, powered by three core surfaces—Projects, Wiki, and AI—and grounded in a philosophy we call Planes of Work.
This isn’t a new direction. It’s the same one we’ve been building toward, made visible.

Introducing Planes of Work
Since inception, our customers have been quietly expanding what Plane could do—use cases even we didn't think of, sometimes.
- A 250-person agency uses Wiki to broadcast playbooks across 30+ client teams.
- A defense robotics company insists every project start with Pages.
- A Romanian government department began coordinating civil ops entirely inside Plane.
- A manufacturing company replicated its workflows for every new project, step-for-step, and asked us to make it so less boring and manual.
We realized work isn’t flat. It doesn’t happen in a single place, or one neat tool. It moves across layers. It shifts form. It grows in ways you don’t see coming.
We call these layers Planes of Work.
It’s how one company captures tribal knowledge across marketing, ops, and engineering. It’s how another works across vendors, contractors, and regulators—none of whom sit under the same org. It’s how work flows across teams, across departments, across countries. Sometimes even across air-gapped servers with zero internet.
So yes, Plane started simple. But our customers? Not so much. They pushed our product to new levels. We’re catching up with a name that reflects that. And now, we're building everything around it.
Planes of Work is no longer just how our product is used.
It's the philosophy behind how it's designed.

Our new visual identity
The Plane logo is built from the same philosophy with three distinct planes that converge at a single point and reflecting Plane’s purpose of bringing together different ways of working.

The wordmark does more than spell our name. Its quiet motion reflects how work flows in Plane—fluid, adaptable, and always in sync. It’s designed to feel right at home across everything we touch, from product screens to enterprise decks, without ever drawing too much attention to itself.

Three products. One workbench.
The Plane platform is made up of three connected products. Each one is built to solve a real-world problem, but together, they form a complete system for managing modern work.

Projects
This is where the structure lives.Create tasks, plan sprints, manage cycles, track epics, and define workflows that reflect how your team actually works. Projects in Plane are flexible, fast, and deeply customizable without turning into chaos.
Wiki
Documentation married to your work. With Plane’s Wiki, teams can write specs, document decisions, onboard new teammates, and cross-link everything right next to where the work happens. It’s clean, searchable, and built to scale without sprawl.
Plane Intelligence (Pi)
This is where things start to feel different. Plane Intelligence is our AI layer and your smartest teammate—currently in beta with select customers—designed to help teams automate the time-consuming, unblock the stuck, and surface what matters.
What it means to be AI-first for real
Everyone's busy yelling "AI!"
We just... built it into how work happens. No fanfare. No glitter. Just quiet, useful intelligence showing up as your smartest teammate ever.
Your new teammate helps you:
- Ask questions and get answers based on all your project and wiki data
- Summarize long threads, issues, and documentation instantly
- Triage inbound requests and route them to the right workflows
- Create AI teammates that automate routine or complex actions across projects
We’re not chasing gimmicks. We’re building AI tools that respect your context and stay out of your way—until they’re exactly what you need.
This work is ongoing, but the direction is clear: Plane will always be structured and opinionated where it matters, while using AI to remove friction everywhere else.
Enterprise-ready, and built to scale
Plane now runs inside some of the most demanding environments in the world—governments, defense contractors, fintech companies, and fast-growing global teams.
We’ve built the platform to meet that scale:
- Role-based access and workspace permissions
- Single sign-on, SAML, and audit logs
- Feature parity across cloud and self-hosted deployments
- Support for air-gapped environments
- A performance architecture that handles thousands of work items without slowing down
Our growth in the enterprise hasn’t changed what Plane is. It’s sharpened it. We’ve doubled down on clarity, control, and composability while keeping the product simple to adopt and a joy to use.
That’s the update. And the upgrade.
This upgrade isn’t just a new direction. It’s the same one we’ve been following, made clearer, sharper, and more aligned with where we’re headed.
You’ll see our new identity everywhere: on the product, our website, our documentation, and every surface in between.
Plane Intelligence is now in beta and rolling out now to Business and Enterprise customers. The full rebrand is live across both cloud and self-hosted editions across Web, Mobile and Desktop.
Some of our earliest customers are about to get something special: custom swag kits, designed to match the new Plane experience. Keep an eye on your doorstep.
