Hand work to Plane Agents
Plane Agents are finally here! Give an agent a job, set a trigger or a schedule, and it gets to work inside your workspace. It works with the same projects, work items and context your team already uses.
Build an agent in minutes
Open Plane AI, name your agent and describe its job in plain language. Then set it up with:
- Instructions for what it owns and how to approach the job.
- Skills for reusable ways to handle specific kinds of work.
- Triggers for when it runs: when it's assigned or @mentioned, when a work item is created or updated, or on a schedule.
- Memory that carries context from one run to the next.
- Tools that connect it to other apps through MCP.
Watch it work
When a trigger fires, the agent starts a run on the work item. Open the run panel to follow its thinking, the tools it calls and its plan as it goes.
Every change it makes shows up in the work item's activity under the agent's name.
It asks when it needs you
If a decision needs a person, the agent posts a question and the run shows Needs input.
Reply in the thread and it carries on from there.
It reports back
When it's done, the agent posts a summary on the work item and marks the run Completed.
@mention it to hand over the next step. You can stop a run at any time.
You decide where it works
Choose which projects each agent can work in.
Put one on triage, spec reviews, release-risk checks, feedback roundups, weekly updates or backlog cleanup.
Meet the new Plane, built on Propel
Plane has a fresh new look! We rebuilt the core of the interface on Propel, our new design system.
Every menu, dropdown, button and dialog now comes from one set of parts, so Plane looks and works the same everywhere.
Here's what you'll notice:
- Cleaner menus. Actions sit in clear groups, and Delete is marked in red.
- Smarter pickers. Pickers like State let you search as you type, and open upward when there's no room below.
- Tidier display options. Properties show as compact chips, and Group by and Order by fit in two rows.
- Clearer work item rows. Every property uses one pill style, and empty dates are labeled Start date and Due date.
- Polished settings. Settings navigation has icons, and table headers stay in view as you scroll.
- Matching dark mode. Light and dark themes share the same tokens.
- New workspace icons across the product.
Use the latest frontier models in Plane AI
Three new models just entered Plane AI's model picker:
- GPT-6.1 Sol for complex reasoning and knowledge work.
- GPT-6 Luna for fast, lightweight answers.
- Claude Sonnet 5.5 for near-frontier coding and agentic work.
Import CSVs straight into a project
Project admins and members can now import work items from a CSV right in project settings.
Workspace admins can still import at the workspace level.
Reorder your Wiki with drag and drop
You can now drag and drop to organize the Wiki sidebar:
- Reorder collections.
- Reorder pages within a collection.
- Reorder nested pages under their parent page.
Set a default work item type for each project
Project admins can now choose the default work item type for each project.
It doesn't need to match the workspace default, and workspace work item types can still be imported into any project.
- Added daily and weekly AI credit limits, so you can keep AI usage in check.
- Plane AI can now @mention people in work item comments.
