Recurring work items, documentation imports, and nested pages | Sept 1st, 2025

What's new

Schedule recurring work items

You can set up repetitive work to run on your schedule with your own rules. All recurring work items sit in one list where you can search, filter, and manage them easily.

Pick how often something should come back: daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, or even yearly.

Each recurring task can start from a template that includes work item type, title, description, state, assignee, priority, labels, and modules—so that context is crystal clear. Properties from the project carry over automatically, saving setup time.

Every recurring item also comes with an activity log. You can see when updates were made, track runs, and check if anything failed.

No more re-creating the same status updates, reviews, or audits over and over.

Import documentation from Notion and Confluence

You can completely migrate spaces from Notion and Confluence sustaining their structure and formatting. Page hierarchies, tables, and embedded content come across as they are.

This saves you from copying pages one by one or breaking the hierarchies they were organized in. Once imported, your docs sit next to your work items so specs and notes stay tied to the work.

Import projects from ClickUp

You can move projects from ClickUp into Plane in very few steps. The native importer carries over tasks, structure, and details so your team keeps its history of work without having to rebuild it.

Integrate GitHub Enterprise to Plane

You can keep GitHub Enterprise and Plane in sync so developers and product teams always see the same updates. Closing a GitHub issue moves the linked Plane work item to Done, and changes in Plane—like requirements or status—show up in GitHub right away.

This means engineers keep working in GitHub, product teams keep planning in Plane, and no one has to update two systems or wonder which source is correct.

Organize project knowledge with nested pages

You can now nest pages inside a project instead of keeping everything in one long document. This lets you split work into smaller sections while still keeping them side by side. For example, the spec, meeting notes, and QA checklist can all stay tied together in one place.

Add mathematical formulas and equations in editors

You can now write equations directly into work item descriptions and docs, wherever the rich text editor is. This was one of the most requested features from teams who rely on LaTeX for technical notes, research papers, or specifications.

There are two ways to add equations: inline equations that sit neatly within a sentence, and block equations that stand on their own for longer expressions. Together, this makes specs, research notes, and technical docs clearer to read and easier to write.

Enhancements

  • Revamped Slack integration with a cleaner UI and two-way sync, so you can now manage both work items and Intake directly from Slack.
  • Turkish language support added
  • Module filters saved in local storage so they persist on refresh
  • New custom property: URL, available in work item type setting at the project level.
  • Project filters in Teamspaces now persist on refresh, so the filters you last applied stay in place instead of resetting.
  • Updated wiki page card titles with cleaner styling for easier reading.
  • Extended URL validation to support extensions up to 15 characters, up from 6, so longer domain names are now accepted.
